Honours student
Hello! I’m Teghan, and I am new to the GFS lab in 2017. This photo was taken off the Bloomfield track near the Daintree Rainforest, after 10 days of field-work studying Golden-shouldered Parrots in Cape York! I adore field ecology, so I consider myself extremely fortunate to be working with Bush Heritage Australia and Olkola Aboriginal Land Managers as a UQ honours student, studying this endangered Queensland bird.
Australian flora and fauna are my absolute passion. We are so lucky to live on this old, old continent where all the wildlife is just a little bit odd. I’m also very interested in the cultural connections people have forged with nature over many thousands of years, and how these intersect with conservation objectives. I’m looking forward to a long career in conservation and I am excited to start it off with the GFS lab!
